Local events

Fantasy Surf will be hosting a number of local events throughout the year. Our goal is to provide our local riders with a forum for friendly competition in each of the categories; stand up, bodyboard and drop knee. Our desire is to help foster an environment of growth for the Flowboarding sport for both boys and girls, men and women of all ages.

The next event is scheduled for March 10th, 2012. The contest is open to both amateur and expert riders in youth, men’s and women’s divisions with cash prizes for 1st place. Contest entry fee is $40 and $20 for additional division.

National events

The Wave Loch Flow Tour is open to riders of all ages and skill levels including stand up, body board and drop knee Flowboarding. The tour travels throughout the U.S. each year, and ends with the National Championships.

The Wave Loch FLOW Tour has divisions for bodyboarders and flowboarders, men and women, boys and girls, amateur and professional, young and old. For the past ten years, the Tour has inspired an ever-expanding level of competition among bodyboarders and flowboarders around the United States – and it all comes to a head on the Wave Loch FLOW Tour.

The 2010 US Flow Tour began on April 24th in Waterville, AL and, with 16 stops across the nation, is shaping up to be the largest of the series to date. As the biggest national FlowRiding tour in the world, the US tour sets the standard in every way. From the number of competitors and tour stops to the cash and prizes up for grabs, nothing in flowboarding is bigger than this. Single A rated events will be giving out $1000 in cash in the Expert divisions while Double A events will be shelling out $2500. The finals prize will be $5,000 cash.

FANTASY SURF to host 2011 U.S. FLOW TOUR

A recent announcement was made by Waveloch that the National flowboarding championship competition will be held April 30th at the new Fantasy Surf venue.

The top flowboarders in the country will converge on Kissimmee in April when the 2011 U.S. FLOW Tour comes to the new Fantasy Surf® at FantasyWorld Resort indoor water attraction.

Wave Loch, creator of the U.S. FLOW Tour and manufacturer of FlowRiders®, has selected Fantasy Surf to be the second stop of the four month long tour that is held at 16 venues across 13 states.

“Wave Loch has been closely involved with the construction and launch of Fantasy Surf. We’re impressed with the beautiful 14,000 square foot facility and the way the community has embraced the new venue,” said Rob Chalfant of Wave Loch. A typical U.S. FLOW Tour event brings hundreds of participants, coordinators, sponsors and vendors to a venue.

“Hosting a FLOW Tour competition will not only put Fantasy Surf on the national map but it will provide an economic boost to surrounding businesses that will offer lodging, food, and other amenities to the tour audience,” said Chuck Richardson, director of sales and hospitality at Fantasy Surf.

Fantasy Surf features Wave Loch’s patented double FlowRider® system which uses high-pressure pumps to create as much as a 30 MPH three-inch sheet of water. The water from the 55,000 gallon tank flows up and over the shape of a faultless tension sheet wave simulating the feeling of surfing.

Riding the indoor attraction has the look of surfing and wakeboarding, ride of snowboarding, and tricks of skateboarding in a safe and controlled environment.

Fantasy Surf sponsors the expert men’s and expert women’s champions of the 2010 U.S. FLOW Tour: Sean Silveira and Amanda McCormick, both from the Orlando area. After winning the U.S. competition, Silveira and McCormick went on to capture their respective divisions in the World Flowboarding Championships in October in Singapore. Both Silveira and McCormick plan to compete in the 2011 tour and will train at Fantasy Surf.
